New Haven, CT - The night sky above New Haven was ablaze with vibrant colors as the city celebrated America's 248th birthday with a spectacular fireworks display. Families from all over gathered at Wilbur Cross High School, eager to witness the 25-minute show and partake in the festivities.
Among the highlights of the evening was Keith's Ice Cream Truck, a local favorite that drew crowds with its sweet treats and the infectious enthusiasm of its owner, Keith Capozzi. "I love people. I enjoy people, I enjoy serving people. I enjoy talking to people," Capozzi shared, his smile as bright as the fireworks above.
The 4th of July marks the busiest time of the year for Keith's Ice Cream Truck. Capozzi noted that events like these can draw up to three to four hundred customers, all eager for a refreshing dessert to cool down in the summer heat.
Families eagerly awaited the fireworks, finding joy in the opportunity to bond and create memories. One attendee expressed, "I'm happy because I'm together with my son for this special event," capturing the essence of the holiday.
In addition to the ice cream and fireworks, New Haven's celebration featured various events throughout the day.
