Sally’s Apizza opened its doors at 5:00 PM on August 29, 2024, in Wethersfield, Connecticut. Located on the ground level of The Borden at 1178 Silas Deane Highway, this new location marks the start of Sally’s presence in the Hartford area. As the first of four planned locations in the region, this opening is a major milestone in Sally’s ongoing expansion.
The Rich History of Sally’s Apizza: From New Haven to Wethersfield
Founded by Salvatore “Sally” Consiglio in 1938, Sally’s Apizza quickly became a staple of New Haven’s Wooster Street. Over the decades, it gained a cult following, attracting famous patrons like Frank Sinatra and John F. Kennedy. The original Wooster Street location remained the sole Sally’s Apizza until 2021, when the brand began its expansion to Stamford and Fairfield. Now, Wethersfield is the latest town to welcome this iconic pizza institution.

The Wethersfield location features a carefully curated menu that includes nine of Sally’s signature pizzas, such as the Tomato Sauce Pie, Mozzarella & Tomato, and Potato & Rosemary. In addition, the menu will offer up to three rotating seasonal pies to keep things fresh for returning guests.

Guests can also enjoy a full cocktail bar, an expanded wine list featuring proprietary Italian varietals, classic cocktails like the Italian Old Fashioned and Sicilian Margarita, as well as draft beer, mocktails, and Foxon Park sodas.
Ambience at Sally’s Apizza Wethersfield: A Modern Take on a New Haven Classic
The new Wethersfield location offers a blend of modern comfort and nostalgic charm. The spacious dining room, with seating for 85 guests, features caramel-colored leather booths, a nine-seat bar, and honey oak wood-paneled walls adorned with memorabilia of legendary rock guitarists. The restaurant’s iconic red and white tile oven is a nod to the original Wooster Street location.
In Spring 2025, a patio will open, providing outdoor seating for nearly 40 guests.

Sally’s Apizza in Wethersfield is open seven days a week from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM. While the first night is first-come, first-served, reservations can be made for Friday, August 30, and beyond.
