Patsy's Pizzeria, a legendary establishment rooted in East Harlem, New York, has officially opened its doors in Greenwich, Connecticut. Located at 130 E. Putnam Ave, this new pizzeria represents a significant milestone as it marks Patsy's first venture outside of New York State. The opening, eagerly anticipated by the community, was delayed due to inspection processes, as noted by co-owner Steve Haxhiaj.
Founded by Pasquale "Patsy" Lancieri in 1933, Patsy's Pizzeria is famous for its coal-fired, thin-crust pizza—a style that has come to define New York pizza culture. Over the years, it has become a beloved spot for many celebrities, including Frank Sinatra and Joe DiMaggio. The Greenwich location not only offers Patsy’s signature pizza but also features a more extensive menu, including steaks, lamb chops, veal chops, and homemade pasta, combining elements from the owners' other Manhattan restaurants, Il Monello and Tuscany Steakhouse.
This new Greenwich location is described as a more upscale version of the original Patsy’s, maintaining the authenticity of the original East Harlem pizzeria while introducing a modern twist.
