Dutch Fogarty Independence Day Celebration 2024: A Star-Spangled Evening to Remember!

Experience the thrill of community and celebration on the lush grounds of Manchester Community College from 4:00 PM until the night sky lights up with a spectacular fireworks display at 9:30 PM. Should Mother Nature have other plans, we’ll see you on the rain date, Sunday, July 7, at the same times!

Early Birds Get the Best Spots!

Come early to claim your perfect patch of grass. The event officially starts at 4:00 PM, but arriving early lets you set up your spot with blankets and chairs for the best view of the evening’s entertainment.

Family Fun Unleashed

Delight in an afternoon and evening filled with fun activities suited for all ages. From face painting to lively music performances, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Children and young adults will find plenty of entertainment to keep them amused throughout the event.

Live Music Extravaganza

Tap your feet to the rhythms of local sensation, the Silver Fox String Band from 4:45 PM to 6:45 PM. As the sun sets, get ready to sing along with Nightshift, one of Connecticut’s top bands, as they cover the most beloved songs of the 60s, 70s, and 80s from 7:00 PM to 9:15 PM.

Gourmet Delights and Cool Treats

Indulge in a variety of mouth-watering foods from local vendors such as the Manchester Lions Club, Thomas Smoky Pit Stop, and Brazilian Gula. Enjoy ice creams, BBQ, and much more situated conveniently on the grassy areas near the band shell.

The Grand Finale: Fireworks Spectacular

The night concludes with one of Connecticut's best fireworks displays starting precisely at 9:30 PM. Watch the sky burst into colors in a dazzling display of light and joy!

What to Bring and Not to Bring

Feel free to bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, and coolers (no glassware). For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, please leave drones, grills, candles, personal fireworks, and sparklers at home.

Considerate Conveniences

• Parking: Ample free parking is available, with designated handicapped spaces provided closer to the college buildings. Enter via Hillstown Road or Bidwell Street.
• Bike-Friendly Advice: Riding your bike? Great choice! However, please walk your bike through the crowds.
• No Smoking: As a reminder, the campus is a smoke-free environment.

Supporting the Spectacle

Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted at the parking entrances to help defray event costs. Suggested donations are $1 per person or $2-3 per carload.
