Celebrate Irish Heritage with The Grand Parade XXXVIII

Join us for a spectacular celebration of St. Patrick and Irish heritage at The Grand Parade XXXVIII, presented by the St. Patrick Society on Saturday, March 16, 2024. As we come together to honor the spirit of St. Patrick, this event promises a day filled with joy, culture, and community spirit.

Morning Mass to Start the Day

Begin your St. Patrick's Day with a reflective Mass at St. Mary's, located at 2204 4th Ave., Rock Island, at 10:00 AM. It's a perfect moment to gather in peace and gratitude before the day's festivities.

The Nation’s Only Bi-State St. Patrick’s Day Parade

At 11:30 AM, the heart of the celebration begins. The Grand Parade XXXVIII, the only bi-state St. Patrick’s Day parade in the nation, will commence at the corner of 4th Avenue and 23rd Street in Rock Island, Illinois. Experience the vibrancy and unity as the parade travels through downtown Rock Island, crosses the majestic Mississippi River via the Talbot/Centennial Bridge, and continues through downtown Davenport, Iowa, culminating at the RiverCenter at E. Third and Perry Streets.

A Parade with Purpose

This year’s parade emphasizes family participation, cultural expression, and the lively spirit of the Irish. Decorated floats and walking units will showcase the rich tapestry of our shared heritage. To maintain the focus on celebration and safety, the distribution of throwaways or paper items by parade participants is strictly prohibited.

Post-Parade Bash

After the parade, join us from 1-4 PM at the RiverCenter for the Post-Parade Bash. This gathering is a wonderful opportunity to unwind, enjoy refreshments, and continue the day’s celebrations with family and friends.

A Call to Action: Fighting Hunger Together

In a meaningful partnership, the St. Patrick Society and River Bend Foodbank unite to address hunger in the Quad Cities. The Foodbank will lead the parade, accepting monetary donations to support their mission of closing the meal gap by 2025. Just $1 provides 5 meals, with 96% of donations fueling the Foodbank’s vital programs. Keep an eye out for the River Bend Foodbank truck and join us in making a difference.

• Through downtown Rock Island to the Talbot/Centennial Bridge
• Across the bridge into Davenport, IA, concluding at the RiverCenter
