Becky from the Hometown Explorer here at the International NICE Festival in Norwalk with Bistro Buddy. We're here with Janet Evelyn, the originator and organizer of the event. Janet, give us a little bit of the history and how this all started. So, the Norwalk International Cultural Exchange was started eight years ago, and I'm the founder and the executive director of the Norwalk International Cultural Exchange, which also spells NICE. That was one of the ideas behind it because we're a cultural exchange. We just felt an event, or any event with the acronym NICE on it, is just nice. And because we're a cultural exchange, we thought that people would really like the idea of a NICE festival, particularly one that really works to bring many different cultures together at the same time and in the same place. Oftentimes when we started, there were a number of festivals happening in Norwalk that were pretty much siloed, and a lot of them had dissipated over the years. So at the time, there weren't many events going on in town, or specifically, many multicultural types of events. So at the time, we found we had an opportunity. Our festival was diverse. One was in 2016, and actually, it was such an appropriate time. It was such an opportunity for us because at the time, there was so much divisiveness in our communities, our national discourse, and our national psyche as well. A lot of that was going on, and we thought that the NICE Festival was a really good way to reinforce that we are a nation of many different cultures, and this nation is a melting pot, and this is how this nation was built. So, we seized the opportunity then in 2016 to stage the first NICE Festival and bring all of these different cultures and groups together. Well, how many countries are we featuring this year in the seventh year? You know, it's a one-day festival. We do have two stages. In terms of our culinary arts, because the festival is presented through the visual arts, the culinary arts, and the performing arts, there's only so much that you can fit on two stages in a 24-hour period. But what we also have here, we have the flag of every single country that is a member of the United Nations represented in the flags in this park. So even if they're not with us in terms of a culinary or food offering or a performing arts offering, their spirit is definitely here because we are celebrating their culture as well. Awesome. Well, thank you so much, and I look forward to coming next year. Foreign.
