Becky from the Hometown Explorer here with Bistro Buddy at the Sunwine and Food Fest 2024. So, we're here with Joe of Lawson's Finest Liquids. Joe, tell us a little bit about the business. Yeah, Lawson's Finest Liquids, we started in 2008. We're located in Wakesfield, Vermont, and we're owned by an independent family, Sean and Karen Lawson. We started our brewery actually in 2014; we were able to build a facility there to brew out of and then also a taproom. And our flagship that most people know us for is Sip of Sunshine, a big beer in the United States, let alone the northeast. In 2023, last year, we were named brewery of the year by Brewbound, which is a huge accomplishment for us, a great company to work for, like I said, family-owned, take care of their employees, take care of the community. We just got B Corp certified as well, which is very hard to do; you have to kind of apply for it, and we were granted it about three months ago. So, it's been a big thing for us. We're all about the community; our taproom generates tips from our customers to two charities a month locally in Vermont. And in the last three years, I think we've raised over two million dollars for local charities just from customers tipping at our brewery and not tipping our staff. So, we're all about community, all about helping people, all about the environment, and yeah, it's just a great brand to work for and be part of. That's awesome, and it sounds like it. Well, here, Joe, show us a little bit of what you brought with you today. Okay, so today I brought a new beer that just came out; it's called Beach Party IPA. It's part of our rotating series; every couple of months, we do a new beer. And this is a 3.8 percent ABV, so it's very, very low ABV. It's kind of a riff off of like Dry January; everyone's doing Dry January, well, we're gonna do a lower ABV beer so you can maybe use it for Dry January. Tons of flavor though for how low and light the beer is. Flagship Sip of Sunshine, eight percent ABV, a lot of tropical notes going on in here, some grapefruit, you know, even a little bit of passion fruit, guava. It's just the beer that kind of, you know, propelled us into who we are now and who everyone knows us for. Hazy Rays just came out last year in March, and this is a 5.3 ABV, very, very drinkable, very light, very tropical. And everyone that's been here keeps saying, Well, you know, you have all these IPAs, do you have anything else? I don't drink IPA. I said, Please, just try a little of this, and it just happened before you guys got here, and the woman was like, Wow, this is good. So, don't knock it till you try it. I mean, there's IPAs out there for you. And then lastly, we have our Little Sip, at 6.2 ABV. We like to call this the little cousin to Sip of Sunshine. Sip of Sunshine is eight percent, this is 6.2 percent, so very similar in flavor and hop profile to Sip, just at a lower ABV at 6.2. Awesome, right here, and actually, I want to try the Hazy Rays too. Yeah, they're doing me my cup. No, I we do, and it was just it's just hidden a little bit, little hazy, but it's got a great nose. Oh, it smells really good, yeah. A lot of tropical fruit on there. Oh, that's really good, yeah, that's very light too, yeah. Yeah, it's very light, yeah, I mean, the citrus is really strong, which is great. Yeah, most of our IPAs are citrus-forward. We kind of stick within the realm of the New England IPA, which they're not bitter beers. You know, IPAs 10, 15 years ago, which is kind of a West Coast IPA, were all bitter, bitter, bitter, and you know, we adopted the New England style where it's more rounded out with tropical fruit flavors from the hops, as opposed to bitterness or pineiness, so which makes it way more drinkable. Yeah, right. Joe, thank you so much. Thank you guys so much, and have a good day today, have a good weekend. It's a good day for it, yeah, I know. It'll be good.
