Becky: Becky from The Hometown Explorer here with Bistro Buddy at the Spring Mega Food Truck Festival in Ledyard. We're here with Ashley from Meatball Bombs. Ashley, tell us a bit about your business and how you got started. Ashley: So, I’m Meatball Bomb! We make deep-fried stuffed meatballs with three different fillings: mac and cheese, pepperoni and cheese, and just cheese. They’re bigger than a baseball but smaller than a softball. Becky: How did you come up with the idea? Ashley: We wanted to get into theaters and festivals with something unique, and I just kept brainstorming until I came up with deep-fried stuffed meatballs. Becky: What else is on the menu? Ashley: We have buckets of popcorn chicken and fries, spaghetti and meatballs served in a dog bowl as a nod to Lady and the Tramp, and our popular Meatball Bomber—fried dough shaped like a taco shell and topped with meatballs, peppers, onions, nacho cheese, and jalapeños. Becky: Where can people find you guys? Ashley: We’re often at local breweries and festivals. Some of our regular spots include Almost Famous in East Granby, Legitimus in New Hartford, and Hops on the Hill in Glastonbury. We mostly do fairs and festivals. Becky: And where can people find you online to book you for events? Ashley: I’m more active on Instagram at @meatballbombs. I also have a Facebook page, but Instagram is the best place to keep up with us. Becky: Awesome, Ashley. Thank you so much! Ashley: Thank you!
