Becky: Hometown Explorer here with Bistro Buddy at the Spring Mega Food Truck Festival in Ledyard. We’re here with Dave and Brenda from Supa Dupa Food Truck. So, Dave, tell us a little bit about your business and how you got started. Dave: Well, my wife is a chef by trade, and I’m a machinist. When the pandemic hit, we both got laid off, and since she’s always wanted to start a food truck, I said, Let’s do it. It was tough, but four years later, here we are. Becky: That’s awesome! And you do a lot of catering. What kind of events do you cater, and what menus can you typically accommodate? Dave: We can handle pretty much any menu because my wife is an executive chef. We cater weddings, parties, bar mitzvahs, anything from 5 to 500 people. We have flexible pricing and can do outdoor catering, buffet style, or serve inside the truck, depending on what the client wants. Becky: Amazing! And you’re at a lot of breweries in Rhode Island. Are there any you visit most often? Dave: In the summer, we’re at LineSider in East Greenwich, Lops in Woonsocket, and Working Man’s Distillery in Pawtucket, among others. We focus on big summer events and catering because that’s where the people are. Becky: What big events do you have coming up in Rhode Island this year? Dave: We’ll be at PVD Food Truck Events in Providence, Mulligan’s Island in Cranston, and various fireworks events in Fall River, Cumberland, and Smithfield, to name a few. Becky: Sounds like a busy year! Where can people find you online to learn more? Dave: We’re on Instagram and Facebook, and our website is supadupafoodtruck.com. You can place orders and requests on our site, and I post our weekly schedule on social media at least four times a week. Becky: Awesome, thank you both for chatting with us! Dave and Brenda: Thank you so much!
